I just wanted to give you some feed back about my "replacement window" experience. Many years ago, I read a book: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Value by Robert Pirsig.  It explored the metaphysics of quality. I hope that the name of your company is related.

I had a long list of replacement window companies in Columbus Ohio, which I narrowed to six companies. One didn't show up or ever call back after I left a message to reschedule. One did give me a written quote based on my measurements, after he cancelled our appointment---unheard of at any other window companies. Another used sales techniques insulting to any thinking person and followed up with a letter offering an additional 5% off their last window quote.  Two would have been good replacement windows; they had good salesmen and fair price quotes, but couldn't offer your Zen quick window installation.

But of course, you know your business, and knew what my shopping experience would be like---then offered one that replaced the negatives with positives.

I enjoyed meeting you and appreciate the way you do business, but I was afraid it was too good to be true... [With Zen Windows] I chose the right company.

Everything Dan told me would happen....did happen. The installers did a great job, and were very respectful of our home, cleaning up inside and out as they completed the installation. The windows have made a tremendous difference in the appearance of the home from outside, and the view from inside has been improved with the elimination of the "grates".

We also noticed a big difference in the noise level, as we do not hear traffic, and were unaware of a recent overnight rainstorm, which in the past would waken me.

Also, the installers had to totally reconstruct the transom window frame in our master bathroom due to rotting wood; they did a tremendous job in this, which took some good carpentry on their part.

Finally, I recently washed all the windows, inside and out, and was pleased with the ease of doing this; the windows performed just as Dan had said they would, and I was done with the job in a very short time.

If you want a grade on the overall job, I'll give it a 10 on the "expectation to results" scale.

My experience with Zen Windows has been one of the most positive experiences I've ever had with any home repair company.  I first decided to give Zen a chance, after sitting through a horrible, high pressure 4 hour sales presentation with another local window company.  I have to admit that I went into it expecting the same from Zen, but you quickly convinced me that Zen is a different type of company with a different business ethic all together.
 
Throughout the process, you were available to quickly answer any and every question I had.  Your employees, especially Neil and Mike, were so friendly and professional.  It was the first time I have ever experienced such a high level of work ethic across the board, from owner to hourly employee.
 
During the installation, the worksite was kept neat and clean, I never once saw trash or debris once the workers were finished.  And, the few little details that I wasn't completely satisfied with were addressed immediately and taken care of within a day.

We have replaced a total of 16 windows in three stages (mostly white vinyl double hung, but three oak windows were just installed in the living room). Zen has also coordinated the installation of a steel security door and our seamless gutters.

We chose Zen windows because the price was by far the lowest estimate and the product was high quality (not the $169 windows that require you to add on a bunch to make it a good window). We have now had our windows for a year and have found them to be excellent in terms of aesthetics, sound proofing, and weather resistance.

Dan Wolt is easy to get a hold of, the crew was timely and professional, and we have been very satisfied with the service. Plus, Zen doesn't try to con you into buying a bunch of windows you can't afford at once - they have been very receptive to replacing a few at a time and have treated no differently than they would have if we had replaced everything at once. That is why we have called them for work on five separate occasions (and will continue to do so in the future).

"It is embarrassing to admit this, but we received our Zen windows over a year ago and are just now getting around to the feedback.  The fact that so many positives surrounding our window purchase remain ever prominent in our minds after 13 months speaks volumes for itself.  We've had many moons to critique every aspect of the windows by now and cannot of anything negative.
